Kitchen scraps to rich soil - here's how!
Did you know that a pound or two of wriggling worms feasting on your vegetable peelings in a plastic-lidded container produces a nutrient-rich soil your plants will love? Worm composting is fast, easy, low-maintenance and virtually odor free. At Missouri City Green's Worm Composting Workshop, led by experts from the Fort Bend Master Gardeners, you'll learn how to create and maintain a healthy worm composting system. Create your own 10-gal container filled with bedding material and a starter supply of worms that you can take home (1 kit per registration). Children accompanied by an adult are encouraged to attend. Great activity for Scout groups and environmental clubs! The class is full and we have stopped taking new registrations. |
