Recycling: Missouri City Green has promoted the practice of recycling since its inception through a number of initiatives including:
Litter Removal:
Native Trees and Plants: Missouri City Green promotes the use of trees and plants native and adapted to the area. Missouri City Green partners with Missouri City Parks and Recreations Department to support tree planting and other beautification projects such as the Edible Arbor Trail.

Recycling: Missouri City Green has promoted the practice of recycling since its inception through a number of initiatives including:
- Electronics Recycling - community-wide electronics recycling events are held with support from Missouri City Parks & Recreation to allow residents the opportunity to safely dispose of their unwanted electronics
- Solid Waste Task Force - in late 2014, Missouri City Green created a Solid Waste Task Force as the City's solid waste contract came up for renewal. A Solid Waste Task Force Report was presented to the City advocating the inclusion of curbside recycling for all residents. The City's new solid waste contract, beginning in January 2016, now includes provision for curbside recycling for all Missouri City residents.
- Youth Education - recognizing the importance of educating our youngest citizens, Missouri City Green provides opportunities for youth to learn about recycling through Earth Day events and activities at community wide events such as Missouri City's Snowfest and Eggpalozza.
- Native tree planting

- Residential water conservation practices
Litter Removal:
- Trash Off: Missouri City Green, in partnership with Missouri City Parks & Rec, hosts the annual city wide Trash-Off in spring. This is Missouri City Green's biggest event with volunteers of all ages fan out across city parks, waterways and streets to pick up trash.
- Storm Drain Marker program: Missouri City Green partners with the City's Solid Waste Department to install storm drain markers throughout the city to remind residents and yard crews that "nothing by rain" goes down the drain.
