Electronics Recycling Event January 26
Thanks to the collaborative efforts of Missouri City Green's volunteers, the City of Missouri City, Missouri City Parks & Recreation Dept and CompuCycle (R2 Certified Recycler) our 6th Annual Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday January 26 was a HUGE success.
500 families participated and recycled 33,277 lbs of unwanted, outdated and broken electronics in 4 hours. Donated items will be refurbished, where possible, or broken down so that their valuable component parts can be put back into the manufacturing process. Special thanks to those who generously donated toward future community clean up events. |

Don 't Mess with Texas Trash-Off April 6
Over 100 volunteers of all ages participated in Missouri City's Don't mess with Texas Trash-Off, part of the largest one day cleanup event in the State of Texas. The event was a huge success with volunteers from across the city gathering to remove litter from Missouri City's parks. Missouri City Green and MC Parks and Recreation partnered together to host the event for the 7th consecutive year. |

4th Annual Paper Shredding Event
On Saturday April 27th, Missouri City Green in partnership with MC Parks and Recreation held a 'Post Tax Day' Confidential Paper Shredding Event. A total of 18,000 pounds of confidential papers were shredded on site by our vendor ProShred.

Worm Composting Workshop August 24
Missouri City Green, in partnership with Fort Bend Master Gardeners, presented a family-friendly worm composting workshop where participants learned how to create and maintain a worm composting system. Participants received the supplies needed to start their own worm composting system.
Fall Vegetable Gardening Workshop Sept. 21
Boone Holladay, Ft Bend County Extension Agent in partnership with Missouri City Green led a workshop on creating a successful fall vegetable garden. Each participant received a free fall plant to take home. |

Storm Drain Marker Event Oct. 5
Volunteers both young and old fanned out in groups to adhere decals to storm drain inlets in different subdivisions in Missouri City to remind residents and lawn crews that "nothing but rain goes down the drain!".
Boy and Girl Scouts, service organizations, companies, families and individuals came out to make a difference to help ensure our storm drain system is working effectively. A huge thanks to our hardworking volunteers and Missouri City Public Works for their partnership! |
Adopt-A-Highway Clean Up Event Nov. 9
At our recent Adopt-A-Highway event, volunteers from Missouri City Green and 22 young people and their leader ‘Officer Williams’ from the YIP program sponsored by the George Foundation, collected trash along Missouri City Green's two mile stretch of FM 1092.

Environmental Education at WIDE School Dec. 5
Missouri City Green and Mycle Recyle visited the WIDE School to discuss our environmental programs for their students.
