Don't mess with Texas Trash-Off 2018: Over One Ton of Trash Collected
|
Over 120 volunteers from the community braved the wind, rain and falling temperatures to remove trash from Missouri City's parks and trails. In just 2 hours, 100 bags of trash (over 1 ton) were collected. Volunteers were treated to pizza (generously supplied by Brooklyn Pizza) and awards at the newly renovated Community Center.
Thanks to all our hardworking volunteers; individuals, families and to our large groups: Elkins High School, Church of Latter Day Saints, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Girl Scouts, Fort Bend Youth and Rocky Creek Dental Care. Missouri City Green would also like to recognize our Sponsors: HEB Riverstone Shopping Center |
3rd Annual Paper Shredding Event: Over 400 Cars in Three Hours
|
Our 3rd Annual Paper Shredding Event on April 28th was an overwhelming hit with the community. Over 400 cars passed through the line in just 2 hours. Based on past attendance, we hired a second truck that was nearly filled by the end of the three hour event.
The generous donations made by this year's attendees will make it possible to host another FREE community wide Paper Shredding Event next year. Photos courtesy of Missouri City Communications Department
